Like the changing of a scene 
At a play, 
All the world is green now. 
Those gentle, faded fields 
Full of corn stubble 
Have all vanished.
Mennonite children, 
Working with their parents, 
Wave from the road.
The black cows, standing 
In the tall grass, 
Look stately and beautiful
As they too 
Feel the spring.
