In the spring, it was daffodils,
And clusters of shaded grape 
Hyacinths.
When those faded, the roses,
Eager and generous,
Blossomed amidst the strange 
Fluctuations in temperature.
The quiet, stately irises 
Have come and gone.
What will be next? 
Perhaps the roses will recover, 
I don't know what other 
Flowers might be in store. 
Fruits will ripen,
